100 Days Tiles

Natural Graphic Patterns 

The 100 Days Project is an online art-based exercise where you repeat a simple creative task every day for the time period of one hundred days. By committing to a group project, it provides a good motivation to explore something artistic every day and although challenging to complete, it can transform the way you work. 

My intention for this project was to make small octagonal, hand-made tiles out of clay and make impressions on them with geometric patterns and textures. I used materials from the natural environment such as leaves, bark, stones, seeds and a black ink to highlight parts of the pattern. The aim was to collect a repertoire of interesting patterns using whatever I could find in nature.
