Exploring Pottery Glazes
The 100 Days Project is an online art-based exercise where you repeat a simple creative task every day for the time period of one hundred days. By committing to a group project, it provides a good motivation to explore something artistic every day and although challenging to complete, it can transform the way you work.
For this project, I wanted to investigate different ways of applying or manipulating a pottery glaze onto a clay pinch pot form, in an unconventional way. American sculpture artist Richard Serra created a list of verbs, such as ‘to roll’ or ‘to splash’ which I used as a starting point for my explorations.
