Most green glazes, both transparent and matt, are prepared with various strengths of Copper oxide. Lime or grassy greens are usually made by using Chrome oxide as a colourant, while other shades of green can be achieved by using Iron oxide, Nickel oxide and also in combination with many other pigments.
